Dr Christi van der Westhuizen is the author of White Power & the Rise and Fall of the National Party and a regular analytical columnist in the media. Her latest book, Working Democracy: Perspectives on South Africa’s Parliament at 20 Years, is due out this year. She holds a PhD in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Political Economy and South African Politics (Cum Laude).She started her career as journalist at the independent anti-apartheid weekly Vrye Weekblad, worked as Associate Editor (Africa and Europe) at Inter Press Service and received the Mondi Newspaper Award for political commentary. Paul Kelemba (Maddo) is a Kenyan cartoonist and illustrator. His full-page weekly socio-political composite cartoon feature titled It’s a Madd Madd World appears in The Standard Newspaper. He has contributed to several publications over the past 30 years. He is a recipient of several awards including the prestigious CNN Multi-Choice African Journalists Awards (GE Energy Category). He is a founding member of Katuni – The East African Cartoonists’ Society and is also associated with documenting and archiving Kenyan music genres at Ketebul Music. He is an associate producer at Buni Media Limited.
