Katarina Hedren speaks to Erik Charas, an engineer who describes himself as a self-styled social activist. He is the founder of Charas LDA which invests in young Mozambican entrepreneurs, was voted a Hero of Africa in 2005 by media group MSN and named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2006. He is also the founder @Verdade, Mozambique’s largest free politically independent newspaper.
